How do I pay?

At checkout, choose MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money and confirm the prompt on your phone. Your payment is held by Buyam Sellam, not sent straight to the seller.

When does the seller get my money?

Only after you confirm you received your order — or automatically after 5 days if you don't respond, which gives the seller time to be paid even if you forget to confirm.

What if my order never arrives, or isn't what I ordered?

Use the "Report a problem" button on your order page before the 5-day window ends. Do this instead of confirming — once you confirm, the payment is released.

Do I need an account to buy?

No — you can check out as a guest with just your phone number. Your order link is enough to track its status afterwards.

How do I open a shop?

Tap "Open a shop", create your account, and add your first product. It's free to list — Buyam Sellam only takes a 5% commission once an order is completed.

How and when do I get paid?

Once a buyer confirms receipt (or the 5-day auto-release passes), the order shows as owed to you. Payouts are currently sent manually by the Buyam Sellam team — check your dashboard for the net amount after the 5% commission.

How do I get the verified badge?

Finish setting up your shop (logo, description, delivery details, at least one product) and request a review from your onboarding flow or dashboard. The Buyam Sellam team checks it by hand — keep your WhatsApp number and shop details accurate, since that's what verification is checked against.

What happens if a buyer reports a problem?

The buyer contacts Buyam Sellam support with their order details before payment is released, so it isn't paid out automatically. Support will reach out to you to resolve it.

Which payment methods are supported?

MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money — the two mobile money networks used across Cameroon.

Is my payment safe?

Yes. Buyam Sellam holds payment in escrow until you confirm delivery, so a seller is never paid for an order you haven't received.

What is the commission?

Buyam Sellam takes a 5% commission on the item price of completed orders (never on the delivery fee), already reflected in the seller's payout — buyers pay the listed price.

Who delivers my order?

Each seller arranges their own delivery — check the shop's delivery information on the product page for areas covered, fees, and timing.

How do I contact the seller about delivery?

Use the "Chat with seller" WhatsApp button on the product or order page.
